Alexander Painsi has studied law in Graz, Austria and Helsinki, Finland (Mag. iur). In addition, he obtained an LL.M. degree from Columbia Law School in New York, USA, where he focused on US and international bankruptcy and restructuring law. He was awarded the Walter Gellhorn Prize for outstanding proficiency in legal study for graduating top of his class.
Alexander Painsi specialises in insolvency and reorganisation law focusing in particular on in-court and out-of-court restructurings, including cross-border matters. Further, he advises banks and companies in disputes regarding financing and problematic business relationships, as well as corporate transactions.
He teaches insolvency law as external lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Joanneum Graz and regularly publishes in law journals.
